This is an original Ghurka Bag by Marley Hodgson in style No. 4, "The GEARPACK Bag," the fourth Ghurka bag to go into production! This is a classic Ghurka crossbody messenger in chestnut vintage leather 38, tanned in an organic "tea" of mimosa and Quebracho tree barks, a fantastic choice for making any long-lasting luxury bag! This bag is midsize, roomy, yet very light. The bag was tanned experimentally with another solution from the same leather 38 tanning formula, which has given the bag excellent character and charisma. The bag has no missing stitches, holes, tears, or smells. The inside is immaculate. The binding is perfect and intact; overall, we rate this bag 8.7 out of 10. This Ghurka Gearpack is in leather 38, and this color and patina are rare from the Marley Hodgson era. This is your chance to make it yours!
This is an excellent Crossbody bag with a touch of an Indiana Jones safari look! The main compartment is spacious and features a top-zip closure. The bag has an extended front compartment with a flap closure. You could use the bag as a shoulder or cross-body messenger bag.

Founded in Connecticut in 1975 by luxury belt-and-brace designer Marley Hodgson, Ghurka has served as a symbol of superior American leather craftsmanship for over 30 years.
The origins of the Ghurka brand can be traced back to a fortuitous discovery at a British auction house in the early 1970s. Inspired by his love of history and leather craft, Hodgson bid on campaign travel gear and leather boots that had belonged to a British Ghurka officer stationed in India at the turn of the 20th century. He was so impressed by the quality of the nearly century-old leather – durable yet supple despite its age – and by the intricate craftsmanship that he was compelled to launch a line of leather accessories comparable to it. Hodgson tracked down the lost tanning formula for these boots and other accoutrements carried by the legendary Ghurka regiments and applied it to his new collection.
With a new dedicated management team, I am confident that we will see more of Ghurka, which is better and more versatile than ever. (My comment).
