Probably made in the 1950s this is a Rotary ladies' Swiss made watch head. 

It has a round polished silver tone three-section case with a matching push-down case back. The watch head has a polished silver tone bezel and matching crown. 

The face is a brushed silver in colour and has black Arabic numeral hour markers with silver tone hour and minute hands. Some of the hour markers are missing. This is because the surface coating on the dial has come loose in places and now the Rotary logo moves around underneath the crystal.

The watch is powered by a 21 Jewels mechanical movement; an FHF 34-21. This can be seen in photographs 7-9. The movement only runs intermittently and so is sold for spares or repair. If it is wound and given a shake it starts running for a few minutes or more.

These movements went into production in 1955.

Rotary Watches Ltd was established at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895. By the 1920s they began exporting watches to Britain, which was to become the company's most successful market. In 1940, Rotary became an official watch supplier for the British Army. The well known “winged wheel” Rotary logo was introduced in 1925 and has since then undergone minor changes in appearance. 

Case height is approximately 28.75mm lug to lug.

Case width with crown is approximately 24mm.

Case thickness is approximately 7mm.

The distance between the strap lugs measures approximately 10mm.

The item weighs 8.1g.

The watch is in part working condition and so is sold for spares or repair.  If it is wound and given a shake it starts running for a few minutes or more.

When the crown is pulled out the time can be changed.

The hour and minute hands are aligned correctly.

The acrylic crystal is scuffed and scratched. 

The plastic surface covering on the dial is starting to perish and separate and this is why the Rotary name and logo move about under the crystal.

The case has a few scuffs and scratches on it.
