We’ve been selling karaoke since 1988. That’s a long time! When I wanted to put my business phone number in the Yellow Pages the “karaoke” category did not even exist. I had to list the business under “Musical Accompaniment”. I’ve seen a lot of changes in these three decades. The formats that we have used to listen to our music has gone from cassette tapes and Laser Discs to Compact Discs w/Graphics, MP3+G and digital downloads. The good news for those that still have a karaoke cd+g player is that we still have thousands of discs still available, many of them are rare and hard-to-find, such as this one.
When it comes to bands of the 1970's there really wasn't a band like Three Dog Night. They named themselves "Three Dog Night" because the group had three lead vocalists - Chuck Negron, Danny Hutton, & Corey Wells. They picked the name when they had recently heard that on a cold night in Australia one would name it a "Three Dog Night" because it was so cold that the Aussies would need to put not one, not two, but three dogs in the bed with them to keep them warm. As unusual as their name was their music, songs written by Randy Newman, Paul Williams, Hoyt Axton, among others. Most have heard of 'Joy To The World' with it's famous opening verse of "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" but the repertoire of Three Dog Night Songs goes well beyond that monster hit. Here is a disc that shows off the many different hits this group has had in that crazy decade - songs like 'Mama Told Me Not To Come', 'Just An Old Fashioned Love Song. 'Shambala'. 'Black & White', and many others.
