What is a Phantom Press Pin??  

A phantom press pin is a rare, vintage or modern baseball collectible produced for a team in anticipation of a World Series appearance that never actually happened. These pins were manufactured just in case a team won the pennant, but became "phantom" items when the team lost or collapsed late in the season.
