- Product Introduction -Microtubes When developing the X7 bass distortion, it was like fighting a contradiction to obtain a punchy, aggressive sound while maintaining sound pressure. If tightness is desired, it is necessary to suppress the bass to avoid saturation, which often results in a lighter tone. However, if you boost the low range poorly, you will cause the sound to become saturated. Recording engineers have long used a technique called multiband distortion to solve these problems. Microtubes X7 also solves these problems in a compact and flexible way. First, the input signal is split into two signals by a low-pass filter and a high-pass filter that can be set arbitrarily. The high-pass filtered signal (midrange to high range only) is then distorted by CMOS circuitry, just like other Microtubes pedals. After passing through the low-pass filter, the signal is passed through a clean but optionally controllable compressor. By mixing distorted high-end sounds with rich overtones and compressed clean low-end sounds, it is possible to create an aggressive distortion sound while maintaining a thick low end. Even if the strings are in bad condition or the instrument itself has a light or boomy tone, Microtubes X7 gives you powerful tonal control.
