Although they might be slightly different in appearance than the OEM pull starters, these units are BUILT TO LAST and are a much better design than the OEM pull starters.  These units are built using Genuine Honda Parts as well as other components that are MADE IN USA.

The recoil itself is a GENUINE HONDA part that has been redesigned to eliminate the design flaws of the original recoils.  This unit not uses a single pawl design, opposed to the original 3-pawl design that was plagued with problems.  This single pawl design has also been engineered to be able to withstand much higher torque than the original units, therefore can handle higher compression engines, no problem!

PLEASE NOTE:  These units DO NOT incorporate a Decompression Cable.  However, you can still use this kit, even if your engine currently utilizes a decompression cable!

To do this, you will simply disconnect the decompression cable at the lever on the engine head.  If you need to use the decompression, you can still operate the lever manually by hand, but most people don’t find it necessary to use the decompression mechanism when starting the engine.
