A World War I period nickel plated Officer of the Watch single draw naval telescope by T. Cooke & Sons Ltd.
- This telescope is in reasonable used condition given its age and military use
- It has an 24” barrel with a 6” single draw to the eyepiece and 3” sunshade, all with smooth sliding action.
- The draw is marked to “T. Cooke & Sons Ltd, London & York” with "Crows Foot" Admiralty Board stamp and “ No17” below.
- The draw, barrel and the sunshade are all stamped with the serial number “2187”.
- The objective lens is 1.5'' in diameter.
- Eye objective has a sliding cover for protection
- The optics have been tested and an image is visible viewed through the telescope. They have not been cleaned and the instrument will need a full internal clean and service to fully restore. No claim is made to the sharpness. alignment or optical precision.
- All tubes slide together easily.
- I have left the telescope in its original condition without trying to clean it up or shine the brass as I believe antiques are best maintained with their growing patina for best aesthetic quality
