Selmer ended production of their most famous instrument, the Mark VI, in 1974. From that year until 1981 the new model was called (perhaps logically) the Mark VII. The changes that Selmer brought to this instrument, combined with the love that many players had for the Mark VI, doomed this new model to be considered (unfairly) as inferior.

Time goes by and tastes change and the Selmer Mark VII has enjoyed a dramatically increased popularity in the last 10 or so years. What is indisputable is that the price of the Selmer Mark VII compares very favorably with that of the Mark VI.

This Beauty, built in 1976, makes it a very early Mark VII and it offers a lot of Selmer quality for half the price of its more famous cousin. It is a very vibrant instrument which stacks up quite well to anything Selmer has produced before or after.

This horn is all original and in excellent condition. There has been no significant damage and the Silver Plating is much better than one might expect from an instrument of some 50 years old. The gleam of the Silver Plated keys plays off against the lustrous, golden color of the body. The overall impression is quite Beautiful !

We have meticulously re-padded this Selmer Mark VII using Black Pisoni Pro Pads and it plays, of course, perfectly.
