Up for sale is a rare, unissued Western Maryland Railway Company bond dated 1917. This bond certificate was never issued or circulated and remains in uncancelled, unredeemed form — a highly desirable state for collectors.

The Western Maryland Railway was a key regional carrier serving Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, known for freight and passenger service throughout the early 1900s. This unissued bond reflects capital-raising efforts during a pivotal era of growth in the railroad industry preceding major regulatory changes and consolidation in the 1920s.

Condition: I am not a professional and this comes from my father’s collection of antique stocks and bonds. Given its age, it shows age related toning, foxing, edge wear and folds and what seems to be some slight uneven tear/cut from using a paper cutter? Please see photos and ask questions. It has a beautiful train vignette with workers and industry in the background, period font/typography, ornate borders and printed by American Bank Note Co.

This certificate is an excellent addition to any railroadiana, scripophily, or financial history collection. It has not been punched, clipped, or otherwise cancelled.

I will combine shipping so please see other listings or follow along as ai continue to add. Thank you
