Visually striking antique, 1880s -1890s handmade wooden and fretwork octagonal box on feet with a velvet lining.
Highly detailed fretwork and strap work.
Obviously, this shows signs of age with some of the straps split and some of the fretwork damaged. The hinges are intact, although I find the lid a little wobbly. All the feet are in good condition.
I think the lock is a false lock, and there is no key.
It's a lovely decorative piece from the British Empire era of Indian craftsmanship. All handmade with great skill.
