Antique Victorian London Sterling Silver Salt Spoon, 1869 – C & Co., .3ozt

“Authentic English sterling silver (.925) salt spoon hallmarked with the lion passant, uncrowned leopard’s head for London Assay Office, confirming a post-1822 hallmark, date letter “O” for 1869, and maker’s mark C & Co attributed perhaps to Chawner & Co (?), a prominent Victorian silversmith. Measures 3-5/16 inches in length and weighs 9 grams (.3 ozt). Condition: Excellent antique condition with no pitting, dents, dings, damage, and no tarnish; hallmarks are legible. A fine, well-preserved example of 19th-century English sterling silver, ideal for collectors, replacement silver, or display”.
