Hello!
Currently best price on line for a genuine Pentair fleck product (not Ali baba) that comes with the factory warranty and manual new.
This listing is for the replacement valve.
you can replace a standard Fleck 5600 SXT filter valve with a Fleck 5600 SXT AIO (Air Injection Oxidizer) valve, as they share the same physical mounting. However, the AIO valve requires an air check assembly (often included with the valve) on the inlet side to function properly, requiring precise programming and potentially modifying your current filter media to work with air injection.
Key Considerations for the Swap:
* Physical Fit: Both valves use the standard 2.5-inch tank opening, allowing for direct replacement.
* AIO Components: The 5600 SXT AIO valve requires an inlet check valve (air injector) to operate correctly.
* Media Change Required: A standard filter valve typically operates as a simple backwasher (e.g., carbon, sediment), while an AIO valve is designed for specialized oxidizing media (e.g., Birm, Catalox) to remove iron and sulfur.
* Programming Changes: The valve must be reprogrammed for air injection, including setting the backwash (BW) time to 15 minutes, adding a rapid rinse (RR) of 1–5 minutes, and turning the brine fill (BF) off.
*
Steps for Replacement:
1. Bypass the system and unplug the control valve.
2. Remove the old valve and securely attach the new 5600 SXT AIO valve, ensuring the riser tube is properly sealed.
3. Install the air check coupler on the inlet side.
4. Program the controller (see specific steps for AIO mode).
5. Initiate a manual backwash to check for leaks and ensure proper air draw.
The Fleck 5600SXT AIO (Air Injection Oxidizer) system is designed for backwashing oxidizing media to remove iron/sulfur. It is not compatible with, or restricts the use of, media requiring consistent, heavy, or specialized filtration methods like high-density Filox, standard water softener resin (as a filter), or excessive, dense mixed-media beds.
* What it IS Compatible With:
* Catalytic Carbon (Centaur/Filtrasorb)
* Birm (If pH is >6.8 and oxygen is present)
* Filter-Ox
* Katalox Light
* Multimedia blends (Birm, Calcite, Carbon, Filter AG)
Key Compatibility Notes:
* Backwash Requirement: The media must be backwashable.
* System Limitation: The AIO 5600 SXT usually handles a maximum of 1 cu ft of filter media effectively.
* Capacity Constraint: If your application requires more than 1 cu ft of media, the system is too small.
Thanks
