The above is manufacture description. First hand account or my opinion is they are a good overall, long lasting, leather working glove. As far as using around fires etc.. good for putting wood in fires, handling pokers lids etc…, I would think of them more as an outside ( or inside ), oven mitt. Great for an outside working glove also. They are flannel lined until the wrist area then they are padded from wrist down including all fingers. great for stacking wood, raking or any outside work activity. I would think it would help with your hand if it gets bumped or hit a lot.
