This Vintage African Trade Bead Necklace features handcrafted clay beads from West Africa, with the necklace measuring 23 inches in length, from one bead end to the other, not including the 2 3/4 inch exposed raffia tie part. The multi-color beads are original, hand-made  and represent the unique craftsmanship of the region. This piece of ethnic jewelry reflects the rich cultural heritage & artistry of West African people. Historically, this type of beaded necklace were used for personal adornment and regional trade. This Necklace is in great condition and could be worn as well as displayed; Unaltered & Unrestored. Mid-20th Century (or earlier). Some surface wear, patina and irregularities from age and use.
