Gibson 1973 Hummingbird Used Acoustic Guitar

This 1973 Gibson Hummingbird, a dignified instrument from the square-shoulder era, is a classic example of the '70s Hummingbird, which underwent a change from round-shoulder guitars. Its square-shoulder, mahogany back and sides, and spruce top, along with its classic design, create a balanced sound with a full, low-midrange, sweet midrange, and moderately compressed highs. While maintaining the tension and responsiveness of a long scale, the added warmth of mahogany allows for thick, expansive chord sounds in strums and crisp, nuanced arpeggios. The slightly thicker neck grip, typical of the 1970s, contributes to a solid tone and stable sustain, making this guitar a versatile choice for a wide range of situations, from singer-songwriters to band ensembles.
The visual identity of the Hummingbird is still intact, with features such as an engraved pickguard and mother-of-pearl position marks, and the fading of the top and drying of the wood over time create a texture and sound unique to vintage guitars.
*Body top and side cracks have been repaired.
