Gibson L-30 Black Ca. 1935-36 Used Acoustic Guitar
The Gibson L-30 was produced for only a short time, from 1935 to 1943. It's a small-sized archtop guitar, approximately 14 inches wide, with a flat back body shape borrowed from the L-00. Based on its specifications, this guitar appears to be from around 1935-36. It features a spruce archtop, maple back and sides, mahogany neck, Jacaranda fingerboard, dot inlays, original Jacaranda bridge, original tailpiece, original tuning machines (with replaced third-string bushing and knobs), single-bound top and back, silkscreened headstock logo, and a black finish. The neck heel has a strap pin, and the end jack holes are drilled at the end of the body. There is no pickguard, but the screw holes are drilled. The 45mm nut width and triangle neck provide a comfortable grip, similar to the L-00 of this period. Despite its 90 years of use, the guitar retains its dignified appearance with extensive weather checking and playing scratches, all of which are characteristic of the original finish. Like most other models, the back of the neck has some paint chipping, especially around the apex of the triangle shape. However, there are no cracks and there's ample room for the truss rod, making this a vintage guitar in excellent condition that can still be used. Despite its small archtop design, the flat back construction gives it a volume and resonance unlike a regular archtop, allowing you to enjoy the shabby vintage voice unique to pre-war models.
