Handwritten 15th century vellum document dating from the reign of King Edward 4th.

Contents in Latin.

 

Measures 10½ inches by 3 inches.

Dated “quarto die October Anno Regni…Decimo octavo” - 4 October in the 18th year of the reign of Edward 4th, dating it to 1479.

This is a Letter of Attorney from:

    Ralph Radcliffe to:

    Thomas Worthington.

 

The document was acquired with others from Lancashire. May relate to Tatton which is mentioned on the second line of this document.

 

CONDITION. Contents complete. Old fold lines. Two tiny pin holes to an original fold line (contents not affected). Otherwise no holes or tears. Very good clean condition for a document of this age. Ink clear and free of fading. Retains the original vellum tab but the wax seal is lacking.
