Offered here is a Mason Premier Hollow Hen Mallard Decoy, measuring approximately 17” long, 6” wide, and 6 ¾” tall.

This decoy was obtained from a dealer as an original Premiere head Mason Decoy, however much research and comparison to the types of heads on other Masons, and thanks to one person who reached out to claim our decoy has a replaced head, we can update our post and auction and will reduce the asking bid if you request a reasonable offer.

This beautiful working decoy is over 100 years old and represents the top tier of Mason’s factory production, known for their graceful lines, hollow construction, and detailed paintwork. The head is not with the original and we are posting pics in this auction to show the difference or a hen Premier (not for sale in group pic above) and the Premier with replaced head in this auction.

This hen has been masterfully repainted in the past, preserving the Premier line’s classic feathering and bold speculum details. The underside retains its Premier stamp and shows typical wear consistent with age and use. Please see all photos for close-ups of head carving, surface texture, and base markings.
