Fabulous Freshly Framed Original WW1 Pencil Drawing by Capt Desmond N.C Tufnell DSC RN.
This amazing piece of artwork is titled “Der Tag” The German Battlecruisers Passing Through our Destroyer Flotilla c.1914-18 and is skilfully drawn by the Ret’d Royal Naval officer Capt Desmond Nevill Cooper Tufnell DSC RN. (1892-1965)
Tufnell, served in the RN during WW1 as a Lieutenant, finally receiving his 1st command, HMS Ferret in 1918. After many years of service which included commands on HMS Bryony, Coventry, Ramillies & Royal Sovereign and a stint as RN Attaché at Tokyo, he was appointed Naval Aide de Camp to King George VI in 1945 before retiring in 1946.
This fabulous pencil drawing has been freshly framed, measures 2ft x 14” and is signed in pencil by the artist to the bottom left and again in pencil, titled to the bottom right.
