"Ooh ah!" When it comes to Italo disco, sometimes the simplest bar-end hook is all that's needed to get us going. Baby's Gang supplied it well with 'My Little Japanese Boy', the megawatt B-side to their 2016 revival LP, Challenger. Baby's Gang formed in Italy in 1983 under the guidance of producer Ivana Spagna and producer Alfredo "Larry" Pignagnoli; blossoming as a teen pop disco group composed of thirteen young performers, many still in their early teens. Exemplary for its shockingly bright, sliding portamento synth secured by the Korg Poly-800, 'My Little Japanese Boy' stupends for its near perfectly rendered, powerfully bright, cosmic sound.
