Francis Zecchini was born in Perciseto Bologna, Italy and immigrated to New Jersey. He served in World War I. He worked as a treasurer in the scrap iron business. He later lived in Andover, Massachusetts and summered in Kennebunkport, Maine. He learned to paint at an old age and painted until he was 101 years old. This painting came out of the estate of this daughter Mary F. Zecchini in Kennebunkport, Maine.
