This is a limited edition GERZ stoneware beer stein , issued in 1993 as part of the GERZ “Limität” series. This series was produced to recreate and honor historic Westerwald salt-glazed stoneware designs from around 1680 .

This particular stone is number 2264 in the limited production run (10,000 pieces worldwide).
The pewter lid is engraved on the inside with:
GERZ LIMITÄT 1993 – ORIGINAL AROUND 1680 – WESTERWALD

The stone is crafted in classic cream stoneware with cobalt blue bands, and features a raised medallion decoration of royal / noble portrait heads around the body — a very traditional 17th century Westerwald motif.

Inside, the stone is fully glazed and perfectly clean.
It also still includes the original paperwork and leaflet from the limited edition series, which is stored inside the stone.
