The Story: Andersen Design, founded in 1952 by Weston and Brenda Andersen, is a Maine-based ceramic studio known for its hand-crafted, mid-century modern designs. The studio, initially located in a rented house with a barn on Southport Island, moved to East Boothbay in 1958, where it remains a family-run business. The Andersens, a couple with complementary skills, created a unique line of pottery, often featuring Weston's industrial design background and Brenda's artistic flair. Their work, which includes vases, bowls, animal sculptures, and more, aimed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The Antarctic Seal designed by Weston and Brenda Andersen is slip cast in red stoneware, decorated in variegated tones of black and gray and dipped in our white glaze. The eyes are ebony outlined in unembellished red stoneware. The Antarctic Seal is 17 inches long, All hand made in the USA.

Domestic: We ship via USPS and UPS. We reserve the right to choose carrier based on shipping method selected at time of payment. We try to keep our shipping charges as low as possible, with never any "handling" charges. Shipping is also combined for multiple items when possible. Delivery Confirmation will be provided. A signature will be required for items with a winning bid over $200. There will be no exceptions. Merchandise is usually shipped within 24 hours of payment confirmation (excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays). International: We ship via USPS First Class Mail and USPS Priority Mail. For USPS First Class Mail there is no tracking info available and delivery times can vary greatly. Delivery can be as quick as 6-10 days, or up to multiple weeks. Items shipped USPS Priority Mail as an upgrade, usually takes 6-10 days and includes tracking information. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding on our item. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping company) or when you pick the item up – do not confuse these charges for additional shipping charges. We do not mark merchandise values below actual value or mark items as "gifts". US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.		Your satisfaction is guaranteed!
