Available in Black, Navy, Forest Green, Burgundy, Tan and Grey (colours other than Black carry an additional cost, please call for a price).

We can also retrofit your Mk1 MX-5 with the Mk2 hood (with HRW) as an upgrade to the zip down/folding Vinyl window hood if you prefer (see pics).

We've been doing this for more than 25 years and South West Roadsters favour the higher quality Twilfast mohair roof for the Mk2 MX-5 ('stayfast' being the thinner, inferior material), which is a very durable 3 layer fabric with a herringbone underside, much less susceptible to shrinkage or sagging and has a more luxurious finish than the original manufacturer's material. Our Mk2 hoods are of a 5 piece construction, as was the original Mk2 Mazda pattern, have heavy duty stitched and then heat taped seams and come with a genuine Mazda rear window.

South West Roadsters take great care to make sure everything is just right when we fit your new soft top, completely transforming the operation AND appearance of your MX-5 Roadster. And yes, we do regularly have to refit hoods for people that attempted it themselves or worse still, make good the botches other garages or dealerships have done too! Our hood replacement service includes lubricating all pivot points and hinges of your frame along with repairs if necessary, replacing tension cables where applicable, repair/lining of rain rail where necessary, repairing weak/damaged hood clasps and clearing hood drainage system!
