As some of you will know, I, Crazy Jack, have experimented, and produced, a number of my 9-volt battery amps - fitted inside Tuna Tins, about 4 years ago, now, so I'm no stranger to the world of packing quality electronics into tiny spaces!...
...and NOW, due to popular demand (well - a few of my friends and customers have been asking...) I've produced MORE of this new line of quirky pedals - the "Fish Face"... and THIS TIME - it's Metallic Red!!!...
...with b-e-a-utiful SOLID BRASS KNOBS!
As the name suggests, this is where the world of great, decades-long established FUZZ circuitry (the Dallas-Arbiter FuzzFace used by Hendrix) meets the avant garde in enclosures... it's a Fuzz Face (NPN, silicon) in a Tuna Tin!
Don't worry - the tin is thoroughly cleaned out before work starts: Trust me - I wouldn't be messing around inside that thing for more than an hour if it didn't smell... "neutral"! This prototype you see here was cleaned out over a year ago and used for a couple of other experiements (hence the odd extra holes)... and it's still smelling fresh as the day it was... cleaned!
We've taken the standard Fuzz Face circuit and, after a lot of tweaking and testing, come up with this circuit... which, as a player who doesn't usually use distortion - I love!!!!
It does the traditional FuzzFace thing - provides gazzillions of racous, spitting grit at one end of the dial, only to clean up (with guitar volume) to release chimey, clear gain at the other end - almost like a Clean Boost!
The original first batch of these Boutique, HAND-WIRED beauties sold VERY QUICKLY in the first few days of their release and NOW we're EVEN MORE OPTIONS at a FRACTION of the price of the popular Beetronics "Tuna Fuzz" pedal!
EACH copy of this gorgeous FuzzFace clone features:
- A brand new, recycled/upcycled ALDI Tuna Tin (choice of Oil or Brine or Spring Water available - message when ordering)
- Guitar In socket (6.5mm / 1/4 inch)
- Signal Out/Amp socket (6.5mm / 1/4 inch)
- 9 Volt PSU adapter socket
- 9 Volt Battery Clip (to fit the socket, if you want to use a battery)
