VIENNA WALL CLOCK, BIEDERMEIER REGULATOR, MONTH DURATION, 31 DAY, 1843-47 

From our antique collection delighted to offer this gorgeous month running Biedermeier Regulator, made by the famous Anton Mayer c. 1843-47 for sale 

These clocks are becoming more valuable due to their uniqueness, especially the ones have been marked and signed by the maker. 

 There was no mass production at Biedermeier times, every piece made is unique to the master, such movement took around a year to produce according to various sources, reflects the true craftmanship of their time. 

Anton Mayer was a very reputable clock maker begun his career around 1834 until the 1860s, started to cooperate with Ignatz Marenzeller (another very famous and talented maker) around 1835, and made quite few masterpieces together.

THE MOVEMENT

Received a fully comprehensive service, cleaned and set by our horologist recently (09.2025) 

Representing real craftsmanship this 31 days duration single weight driven masterpiece, with all original cogs in great working order (let the photos do the justice).

While the antique market is slowing down and getting harder to find a decent piece, month duration pieces represent a very rare and unique league indeed.

THE CASE 

Beautiful mahogany case with mature red-yellowish veneer drawings, gorgeous original ornaments, look fabulous and in great harmony with the case. 

It’s in her original condition, has not been refurbished, few minor hairline cracks can be seen, see photos, but barely noticeable. 

In 2023 received a minor politur treatment to give some of her original shine back as slightly faded during the past decades, but not in the need for refurb, completely stable and those slight age-related marks just add to her beauty. 

Comes with her glass panes too. 

THE DIAL 

The dial is in good condition, few hairline cracks can be found when observed closely between 12-1, and 9-10 numbers, but barely visible to the naked eye. 

The arms are very unique handmade "blued" pieces indeed. 

The double-sided brass pendulum bowl and the weight are in great condition too.
