Lita Ford (b. 19 Sep. 1958) is an English-born, American heavy metal guitarist & singer. At age 16 she joined the all-female rock band The Runaways. Their 1^st album in '76 was a success & her lead-guitar playing was an integral element of their sound until they broke-up in '79. She released her debut solo album Out for Blood in '83.  Dancin' on the Edge ('84) featured hit single Fire in My Heart (Top 10 in countries outside the USA) & Gotta Let Go which hit #1 on the USA Mainstream Rock Charts. Ford hired Sharon Osbourne Management & re-emerged with a more radio-friendly pop-metal sound. She released her most successful album Lita ('88) with singles Kiss Me Deadly, Back to the Cave, Close My Eyes Forever, & Falling in and Out of Love. The ballad Close My Eyes Forever (duet with Ozzy Osbourne) is her most successful song, reaching #8 on the USA Billboard Hot 100. The album Stiletto ('90) featured singles Hungry, & Lisa. Album Dangerous Curves ('91) had her last charting single Shot of Poison. Final album prior to a hiatus was Black ('95). After hiatus she released album Wicked Wonderland (2009). Living Like a Runaway (2012) was more in line with her earlier work. In 2014 she received The Certified Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine. Time Capsule (2016) is a collection of songs Ford discovered on old analogue tapes from the ‘80s, featuring recordings made with Billy Sheehan, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick, Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Dave Navarro, Rodger Carter & Jeff Scott Soto.
