For sale is a rare Leitz point counter mechanical stage for polarised light microscopes.
Research the model this is suitable for. It will not mount onto my Olympus stage and I do not want to modify it.
The alignment pins can be taken out, and that makes the stage mountable.
The point counter stage is useful for petrographers to determine the minerals at each point along an XY grid. This allows them to evaluate the composition of the mineral and potentially determine its name.
This is rare, complete accessory, with all the point counter adjustment knobs.
The box hinges are damaged, but that does not affect use.
This is an older model with one design flaw, the clamping arm is prone to falling off if it is mishandled. Handle the claw gently. If it falls off, you can align the pins and press it back onto the stage. Newer versions feature a much better design.
