Model of the Dutch Carden Lloyd Tankette Mk.V. As available in May 1940.
The Dutch army had 5 tankettes and those were the only tracked vehicles
in the Netherlands. Well, there was also a Renault R1 tank, but that
was only used for testing before May 1940. The Dutch Tankettes had a
MG-gun shield what made them somewhat unique compared to the Mk.V's of
other countries.
It is a bit unclear what happened with all 5 tankettes, but 2
Tankettes did try to join the fighting at the Waalhaven airport May 10th
1940, but both had taken damage during a German bombing raid. So the
vehicles were left behind, but only after the Dutch removed the Machine
gun.
Crew 2 (driver + machine-gunner) Armament 0.303 (7.62mm) Vickers Machine-gun.
