This is a good used fuel tank. Will fit all 1970-1973 models. This tank has been modified to be able to run an under the tank ATE master cylinder. The center of the tank has been cut out and new sheet metal has been welded in to run the under the tank master cylinder. It a professional welding job. They used a heavier gauge steel so the tank feels heavier. I checked the threaded bosses where the BMW Roundels and the screws thread in and out smoothly.
I am calling this a display tank. The inside shoulder that is straight down from the gas cap was raised up when they did this modification. I cannot see in side the tank even with a flashlight. I ran my finger across it and it looked have dust/dirt/ old gas etc on the inside of the tank. Hence it would need to be flushed out.
This tank has been painted and has black hand pinstriping tape. The tank looks to be straight. One on the petcock threaded bosses is slightly damaged. It would need to have die run over it. This would be perfect for a mancave hung on the wall etc. This tank is being sold as a DISPLAY TANK with no warranty. It is sold in AS IS condition and cannot be returned.
Includes : large /5 fuel tank with gas cap. I have an all white paint set as well less the tank. The cap is a steel cap from a /6 model. We are a BMW only source. Contact me with any questions you may have.
