This bat is from a buyout of a defunct sports bar in the Syracuse N. Y. area. During the 1970's, 80's and 90's the establishment hosted numerous signing events for athletes from various professional sports. Participants in these signing sessions would contribute game used uniforms or other equipment to the bar. Offered is a Jerry Schunk pro model game used bat from his time in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. It dates from the late 1980's to the very early 1990's before team name were added to the barrel in 1992. It is an H239 Louisville Slugger and shows lots of game use in the form of ball strikes. Not cracked but the handle is loaded up with pine tar and is taped underneath. His uniform number 17 appears on the knob. It is 34" long with silver stamping and his full name in block letters. He played 11 years in the AAA minor leagues with the Syracuse Chiefs, Portland and Charlotte. This bat is from his earliest days with Toronto organization when he played for the Syracuse Chiefs.
