This antique French hand made TIAN cheese making bowl is in excellent condition, it is 13 inches in diameter and 4 inches tall. It has no cracks or repairs. It has A center piece for pressing goat cheese against to drain out the extra moisture and a pourspout. The inside is glazed with a lovely burnt orange color that has a speckled finish to it. A lovely piece for a collector of Southwest French pottery

This late nineteenth / early twentieth-century French terracotta cheese fassellier was originally used for straining cheese. The fresh cheese was pressed in a faisselle on the center platform and the liquid ran to edge. There are not many of these pieces of pottery left. And this one is a wonderful and intact example.
