Victorian Staffordshire cow-maid and cow-boy pair c1860

A very fine pair of Staffordshire mantlepiece figures depicting a milkmaid and cowherd, both standing against horned cows over stylised streams. Circa 1860, beautifully coloured.

Dimensions: milkmaid 17cm high, cowherd 16.8cm high
Each figure weighs approximately 700gms
Total weight: 1.4kgs

Condition: The milkmaid figure has had restoration to the cow’s left ear and horns. Also there is loss of enamelling around the maid’s tunic. The cowherd figure cow has a repaired right horn. The restoration has been checked under UV light. These are superb figures.
