The Marshal Ney Class Monitors was a class built for the Royal navy during WW1.
During
WW1 it became clear the RN needed monitors to shell enemy positions
from the English Channel. Two ships have been build and armament changed
considerable over time. Both ships survived WW1 and WW2.
Marshal Soult, completed Aug 1915.
Marshal Ney, completed Nov 1915.
Armament as build, two 15-inch guns in a single turret, two single 3-inch guns, two single 2 pdr guns.
