If you want an all round walking / water resistant hiking walking boot suitable for year round use you cannot go far wrong.
These boots fit true to size and a medium fits up to F/ G shoe size with normal socks. If
you have wider feet or like wearing very thick socks we recommend you go
for a wide fitting or size up - the same advice for most hiking boots.
We recommend the use of AltBerg Leder Gris on these to keep them waterproof - they are easy to clean and polish but to keep the leather supple and soft if they get wet all the time, Leder Gris or similar will condition them.
Alt-Berg Warrior Original is a versatile, lightweight boot, the lining is Cambrelle which is ultra breathable making it fast drying if your boot gets wet. Always follow the boot care guidance and never dry your boots out with heat.
The
big advantage of Cambrelle lined boots is that they are much cooler in
summer conditions. In very wet conditions, where it is inevitable that
water will enter the boot, they can be worn with waterproof socks
(Sealskinz Merino Wool) Once off the foot, the boot will dry
out quickly. Many wearers find that a significant drawback with boots that have a
waterproof liner (e.g. Sympatex®, or Gore-Tex®) is that, once wet
inside, they remain much wetter, and heavier, for longer.
The Alt-berg boot has been used on operational deployment worldwide from Bosnia and Sierra Leone to the Highlands of Afghanistan and the Falklands. The microlite sole has good shock absorption, and the 2.4mm leather combined with the unique Alt-Berg Tri-flex® mid sole give first class protection and support to the foot in a wide range of environments.

An all-terrain Vibram® sole with a self-cleaning profile and undercut heel design, delivers excellent grip and traction, resistance to temperature changes and shock absorption to keep joint impact and foot fatigue to a minimum.
A 2cm rubber rand protects the joint between the sole and upper boot and forms a water-resistant seal adding to the water-repellency of the boots.

Cleaning and Refurbishing
Every boot is washed with saddle soap, soles cleaned then dried naturally.
If the leather is dry it will be treated with Leder Gris to rejuvenate and condition.
Insoles are removed, washed and sanitized. If damaged they are replaced with a similar pair or after market insoles.
The laces are removed and washed. If new ones are needed these are made inhouse by us to fit.
The inside of each boot is sprayed with anti-bacterial sanitizing cleaner.
The outside is assessed for wear, and any minor repairs to the leather and rand or eyelets are undertaken.
The leather will then be dressed with conditioner, leder gris or sealing dye depending on the condition and the desired final look. There are some pre owned boots we get which are so good we don't touch the leather as it looks new and has never been polished so we leave it as it is.
Some boots are darkened or recoloured from MOD brown for a different look and coloured laces installed. If you want the original brown or black laces in your boots please let us know.
Boots we get with very worn soles or heels will either be rejected as not fit for sale or if usable be advertised at a lower price to reflect the condition.
Insoles are then put back in, laces re-installed and the boots are numbered and photographed in detail for sale.
No other online business does the level of work we do to present the boots in the best condition possible for resale.
Returns:
If the boots you receive don't fit comfortably speak to us. We can exchange them for a larger, wider or smaller pair if we have the right boots in stock which. Bootking takes customer satisfaction very seriously and we will do everything we can to make your experience buying with us a pleasurable one.
If we can't find a size that will work for you, we will take the boots back and refund in full.
Our only ask is we expect the return to be activated within 14 days of the purchase date, we believe this is long enough for you to decide whether you're going to keep the boots or return them. If the boots are new we need them returned in the condition sent out, i.e. not worn outside and with any tags still attached.
