Originally started in Washington DC and later expanded to multiple locations including the one in Archer City, Booked Up was a fabulous place to spend a day hunting for the perfect title. Renamed "Larry McMurtry Literary Center" it's newly stated function is to preserve and promote McMurtry's legacy. Books can be acquired for $25 each - McMurtry's notes and pricing are in each book making them unique and irreplaceable.  The bookshop is open weekends.  Check out their website for details on upcoming writer's workshops and other events.
