work
of art a true winner!
We love the new
Flamingos:
Beauty and Grace design with its vibrant rose-gold
coloration, but we love the exclusivity of this coin even more. Just
600 of
these beauties will ever be struck, and no more than that number of
lucky collectors and savvy investors can ever possess this truly rare
masterpiece. Please see the section below for our comparison between
this rarity and the higher-mintage (and long sold out) Gilded Honey Bee
and Gilded Peacock proofs.
The gracefully beautiful Flamingo is known for both its flaming pink
plumage as well as its ability to stand on one leg. The American
flamingo is native to Florida,
the Yucatan Peninsula, the West Indies and Caribbean, and northern
South America, including the Galapagos Islands. It is also known as the
Caribbean flamingo.
This remarkable vignette sports a pair of flamingos wading in the
foreground, exquisitely detailed with each and every feather carefully
engraved. In the background three of their compadres take flight, all
highlighted in beauteous, pure rose gold. The rim has also been
finished in rose gold. There are no legends on the obverse to detract
from the sublime beauty of the
design.
The
Flamingos
Beauty & Grace Gold Proof is
just as remarkable, and quite a sight rarer—the mintage is
only 50! Graceful and elegant, these birds represent
nothing less than a numismatic work of art, a visual feast in precious
metal!
Extremely Low
Mintage—Just 600
In 2022, the Gilded Honey Bee Silver Proof sold out in record time and
now trades for multiples of its issue price. Last year's Gilded Regal
Peacock Silver Proof sold out at the mint on pre-release, and is
now very difficult to find. Now along comes the Gilded Flamingos Silver
Proof. Can you guess what we think is going to happen?
Before you answer, here's the rub—The Gilded Honey Bee and
Gilded
Peacock both had a mintage of 1,000. But this Gilded Flamingos Silver
Proof has a mintage limit of only 600. Just six hundred! That's right,
they reduced the mintage by 40%, or 400 coins!
Now guess what we
think is going to happen?! Our advice—secure yours today!
The pure gold version of this coin, the
Flamingos
Beauty &
Grace Gold Proof, has a mintage of just 50! Talk about an
investment
piece!
With a mintage limit of just 600, don't
delay—make this majestic masterpiece yours today before the
price soars!
Flamingos
The American flamingo is a large wading bird with reddish-pink
plumage. Formerly known as the "rosy flamingo", their plumage
gets its pink color from its diet; they eat both algae and
invertebrates that are rich in carotenoids. The name flamingo comes
from Portuguese or Spanish
flamengo,
meaning "flame-colored," and an apt moniker it is. It is closely
related to the greater flamingo and Chilean flamingo. It is the only
flamingo that naturally inhabits North America along with the
Neotropical realm.
The American flamingo is a cultural icon for the U.S. state of Florida,
where it was formerly abundant, though largely extirpated by 1900. It
is now uncommon, with a few small, resident populations. Although
flamingos are native to the tropical south of the U.S., hurricanes have
been known to drive flocks of flamingos north, leading to rare
sightings in Kentucky, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Most
of the birds return to where they came from, but occasionally, one
breaks off from a flock so that there are examples of a flamingo
hanging out by itself for years.
A group of flamingoes is called a "flamboyance" or a "stand."
Who knew? Their life expectancy of 40 years is one of the longest of
all birds. Who knew, redux?
