This is the third book in the timeless twenty six volume ''The Old West'' set by Time-Life Books, called ''The Trailblazers'', written by Bil Gilbert. Due to multiple instances of light to medium wear, this book is rated GOOD.  …A Good book is one that is pre-owned and exhibits average signs of normal wear from use. Covers are not quite new, but very close…no real defects to speak of, except light signs of shelf wear. With these volumes, the metallic ink is prone to abrasion wear, or general fading.  In this case, there is heavy wear, with all but a trace of the ink rubbed off. Pages and end boards are very clean, with no soiling, rips or tears.  However, there is an ownership mark written into the inside cover; see pic. Binding is very tight and shows no sign of wear. Page edge surface has slightly yellowed from age, with very faint spotting on the top surface from dust staining…hardly noticeable, but visible upon inspection.  This appears as some faint sepia colored mottling; I tried to photograph this, but is not visible in the resulting picture. With Time Life books, they designated First Printing by placing a single hour glass shape next to the "Printed in USA" statement near the bottom of the last printed page on books that were printed up until 1975.  This is such a book, and has a single mark, and is thus a FIRST EDITION / FIRST PRINTING.  This is relatively rare, as this series was reprinted and reprinted, with 8 total printings altogether.
