Beautiful vintage movado from the '40s:

amazingly preserved and completely original.

The case, which is unpolished, is in really good shape. This is a three pieces case (bezel, middle case and snap on caseback) is made of 18k gold and measures 34mm.

The dial (not restored) is signed ‘Fab. Suisse’ beneath the Movado signature. This indicates that the watch was supplied specifically to the French market as Customs in France required imported watches to clearly state the country of manufacture in French.  The requirement specifically stated that ‘Fab. Suisse’ should be placed as close as possible to the watchmaker’s signature (brand) rather than being placed at the traditional position at the very edge of the dial by 6 o’clock.

The unsigned crown is original and quite rare.

The movement, Movado c260m, is perfectly preserved and works smoothly.
