estate of a retired anthropology professor in the San Francisco area. All of
his books were well cared for, as you would expect from a professor.

VG+ = DJ present and fully intact. Might have owner’s name
or price inside. No damage, no other markings, no fading, no scuffing, no
bumping, no browning, no foxing. Not new – it’s vintage, after all.
VG = Might or might not have DJ. Cover might have light fading,
some light scuffing or minor bumping. Might have owner’s name inside. Binding
fully intact. Might have light page browning.
Good = Might have light foxing, very minor damage to a page
or two. Might be ex-library with few library markings. Might have a few text
markings.
Acceptable = Might have binding starting to crack,
significant foxing, significant text markings. Might be ex-library with lots of
library markings.
Garbage = Full binding separation, significant stains or
damage, intolerable odor.
