Stevens and Williams Spangle Ware silver mica vases English art glass Victorian
From a high end estate west of Boston come this beautiful pair of Victorian era art glass vases made by Stevens & Williams. Made ca. 1890's. This coloration was achieved by marvering white opal glass in various flakes of different colored glass along with silver mica and casing that in clear crystal. This type of glass has been referred to as Spangle Ware and Vasa Murrhina.
They are both in overall good vintage condition. One has a chip to a ruffle fold and the other has a smaller one/rough spot in a fold as well. See pics. No other significant issues to note.
They stand about 9” tall x 5” wide at middle. Opening is about 4” x 3". These will make great accessories to any Victorian home or your glass collection.
