❓ 1. How to choose the right auger for wood?

MONOLITHIC SNAILS:

  • Auger 60mm (S060M1) - very small auger for occasional splitting of small blocks up to 10-15 cm Diameter

SCREWS WITH CHANGE TIP:

  • Auger 80mm (S080K2) - Standard size for typical household applications, is very suitable for splitting blocks with a diameter up to 30 cm, we recommend an engine with 3kw
  • Auger 90mm (S090K2) - Intermediate size between 80 and 100mm, proves good at splitting blocks with a diameter up to 40 cm, we recommend an engine 3-4kw
  • Auger 100mm (S100K2) - most commonly chosen auger for yards, where more wood needs to be split and versatility is required, splits blocks with a diameter very well up to 50 cm and larger, we recommend an engine 4kw or larger

CHANGEABLE TIP SCREWS - TWO STAGE:

  • Auger 80mm + 125mm (S125K2) - consists of an 80mm auger + 125mm attachment with a different angle, which helps the splitting of the 80mm auger on more difficult types of wood
  • Auger 80mm + 150mm (S150K2) - consists of an 80mm auger + 150mm attachment with a different angle, is longer than its predecessor and handles difficult types of wood, metre wood better
  • Auger 100mm + 170mm (S170K2) - consists of a 100mm auger + 170mm extension attachment with different angle, which supports the work of the 100mm auger very well on more difficult types of wood, metre wood

❓ 2. I have an electric motor, which screw is suitable?

  • Motor 2.2kw = Auger 60mm, possibly 80mm if the blocks are small and only split occasionally
  • Motor 3kw = Auger 80mm is the best choice for continuous operation
  • Motor 4kw = Auger 100mm is the most optimal choice for continuous operation
  • Motor 5kw or more = You can use any of our augers up to 170mm

❓ 3. I have a tractor with PTO, which auger should I choose?

You can use any of our augers in the range of 80 - 170mm

❓ 4. How to choose the screw for the block diameter?

  • Blocks up to 15 cm = Auger 60mm or larger
  • Blocks up to 30 cm = Auger 80mm or larger
  • Blocks up to 40 cm = Auger 90mm or larger
  • Blocks over 40cm = Auger 100mm or larger

Of course these are recommended diameters, you can also use a different size - but splitting can be less efficient

The main advantage is the patent-protected tip mounting system, which perfectly holds the tip in the auger, allows quick replacement without unnecessary downtime, and protects the tip from being unscrewed when switching to opposite directions of rotation. The bolted tip has no thread, and thus does not stay firm after prolonged work.
