Purpose: test bench for components and devices for dielectric strength in the range of 0-10 kV.

Condition: Used but in good condition. It was dismantled from a flawless installation which finished the work due to an upgrade.

NOTE: The device differs from classic insulation meters in that the voltage is given in the pulse, i.e. the actual insulation strength is checked under impact conditions, because ordinary insulation testers have a converter with low current output, which often means that when the insulation condition deteriorates, there are no pronounced breakdown symptoms.

The device is equipped with two 3 m long test cables

The high voltage cable ends with a special test probe.

After connecting a current transformer (normal oscilloscopic) to the output cable, we can observe the shape of the discharge on the oscilloscope.

The design of the device is designed for long trouble-free operation.

The output voltage is regulated by an ordinary 230V 50Hz autotransformer.

The high voltage source is a mains transformer with multiplier.

The unit contains no microprocessors or extensive logic.
