“The name for AMARANTHINE is rooted in the Greek word amarantos, meaning everlasting. So, it follows that this print is an eternally elegant damask, drawn from the archives of the renowned silk weaving mill, Gainsborough. Now given our signature psychedelic touch with an overprinted look (thus creating a shadow effect), the motif drapes across the velvet Isabella lampshade which has been handcrafted in Britain to a Victorian-inspired shape with striped fringing.”

The last few pictures were kindly taken by a customer and i believe they provide a sense of volume and scale for shades, much better than simply the measurements alone are able to give. You’re also seeing them in a genuine domestic context and how well they blend in with and compliment their surroundings.

Reluctantly I’ll commit to providing postage with ParcelForce for £20.45. Say reluctantly because in the past this service I feel is being under appreciated for the efforts it requires in terms of materials, time and energy, let alone the responsibility for ensuring the pristine condition of such a product. So can I please ask that you consider this along with the price I’m asking for or with any offer you make. I recently got a shade this size to a customer so the price of postage is accurate.

NB “Please note, when stretched across a frame, the unprinted base cloth of velvet can show, this is called 'grinning'. Grinning is inevitable when using this fabric to make lampshades. This is because we print on top of the velvet pile, and the ink does not penetrate to the base cloth. We do not accept returns if we consider grinning within tolerance.“
