The contents of Dumfries House in Scotland include the outstanding original 1750s commission of furniture supplied by Thomas Chippendale. Works by Scottish cabinetmakers include Alexander Peter, Francis Brodie and William Mathie. The collection is of such importance that the Christie's sale was everted due to the intervention of then Prince (now King) Charles who funded the preservation and restoration of the house and opened it to the public. This is a rare catalogue set.
