Replacing your stove door rope seal is straightforward and can be completed using basic tools.
• Flat screwdriver or scraper
• Wire brush
• Clean cloth
• Scissors or sharp knife
• Protective gloves
Open the stove door fully and carefully pull out the existing rope seal.
Use a screwdriver or scraper to remove any remaining adhesive from the rope channel.
Thoroughly clean the rope channel using a wire brush.
Remove all dust, debris and old adhesive.
Wipe clean with a dry cloth to ensure proper adhesion.
Proper preparation is essential for a long-lasting seal.
Apply a thin, even bead of the supplied high-temperature adhesive into the channel.
Do not overfill.
Starting at the hinge side:
• Gently press the rope firmly into the channel
• Work evenly around the door
• Do not stretch the rope
• Cut neatly to length
• Ensure both ends meet snugly together
Close the stove door gently but do not latch tightly.
Allow adhesive to cure for at least 12–24 hours before lighting the stove.
• Do not stretch the rope during installation
• Ensure the channel is completely clean before applying adhesive
• Replace the glass rope seal at the same time if worn
• Check seal compression after the first burn
