The Kubozakura tree is 1200 years old. The motif is based on the Isazawa Kubozakura, a famous tree in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, which is also designated as a national natural monument.
The pale pink of the barrel and cap is inspired by the petals, the clear pink of the cap and barrel is inspired by the buds, and the pink gold of the ring and clip is inspired by the color of the branches.
The barrel is sprinkled with fine glass flakes called “meta shine” to create the glamour of cherry blossoms.
The nib is laser-engraved from bud to full bloom. A single fountain pen expresses the ladylike blooming of cherry blossoms.
