COLLECTORS 12” LOVERS SCULPTURE MURANO ARTE ‘80 SIGNED Renato Anatra LABEL VGC

Vintage 1970s or 1980s lovely condition RENATO ANATRA signed with a signature and with a sticker ARTE ‘80 Murano sticker.

An Italian Murano art glass sculpture of two lovers by Renato Anatra. The sculpture depicts two lovers standing and pressed into full frontal contact, gently holding hands at their sides as they kiss. The cylindrical glass base is opaque finish and retains a "Vetri Artistici Art 80 Murano" sticky label on the side Made in Italy. Signed with incised "R. Anatra" on underside of base.

The sculpture is 12" tall hand blown in clear crystal. It is in excellent vintage condition free of any cracks, chips, scratches or repairs.

Renato Anatra is the co-founder of Arte ’80 with Andrea Tagliapietra, and has been one of the most prolific glass sculptors in Murano. His artworks mainly consisting in sculptures made of clear glass are incredible masterpieces, thought to be shown in public. Anatrà has been one of the most important exponents of contemporary Murano glass sculpture. Some of his artworks have been exhibited in museums around the world, like for example his “Guitar in polychrome glass” created in Murano in 1960 is exhibited at Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York. He retired at the beginning of the 2000s.
