This is an old, fragile hand made, hand stitched and embroidered silk decorative piece. It looks European to me, but I could be wrong. The embroidery depicts farm/country life

I don’t know the provenance. It reminds me of a Toran—a decorative hanging I’ve seen over doorways in India—but the images are western. It could have been a wall hanging, a valance or a piano scarf or antimacassar in a Victorian home.

It measures 52” l x 13”w including the fringe.
