  • Spray bottle (optional for wet application)

Steps to Apply Vinyl Signs

1. Prepare the Surface

  • Clean the area: Use a cleaning solution to remove dirt, grease, and residue. Ensure the surface is dry and smooth before proceeding.
  • Avoid dust: Perform the application in a clean, dust-free environment.

2. Position the Vinyl

  • Measure and align: Use a measuring tape to position the vinyl correctly on the surface. Hold it in place with small pieces of masking tape.
  • Create a hinge: Apply a strip of masking tape along one edge (usually the top). This acts as a "hinge," keeping the vinyl in place during application.

3. Peel the Backing Paper

  • Peel gradually: Lift the vinyl by the hinged edge and slowly peel away the backing paper, exposing the adhesive side. Avoid touching the adhesive to prevent fingerprints.

4. Apply the Vinyl

Dry Application (for smaller decals):
  • Smooth down: Use the squeegee to press the vinyl onto the surface, starting from the hinge and working outward to avoid air bubbles.
  • Work slowly: Press firmly and evenly, ensuring the vinyl adheres completely.

5. Remove the Transfer Tape

  • Peel carefully: Slowly peel away the transfer tape at a 45-degree angle. Ensure the vinyl adheres fully to the surface.
  • Check for bubbles: If bubbles remain, use the squeegee or a pin to release trapped air.
